Kiki Here!
My obsession have given me the title the anime-encyclopedia by my friend! Current obsession is on Kagerou Project, so a lot of reblogs and theory posts here! Oh, and a lot of KanoKido oneshots~ :9
I had no idea about Tumblr’s shadowban until it happened to me. Since then, surprisingly quite a few number of people have texted me about them getting shadowbanned as well. Now that I’m aware of it, I realize it’s becoming increasingly common for legit blogs like mine to get shadowbanned for no reason at all. So hope this helps everyone who has to unnecessarily go through this.
What does shadowban exactly mean?
Basically, your blog exists and mostly functions as it normally would, but Tumblr has made it invisible to everyone else. Tumblr lets you believe that everything is fine and that you can interact with others, but actually you can’t. (Look at the wikipedia definition here.)
Why does this happen?
From what I understand, blogs get shadowbanned since they are suspected of being bots, or just sketchy, or they might be going against Tumblr’s guidelines. I’m not sure, but it might also happen if someone has reported your blog.
But more often than not, it’s just a tumblr glitch.
How to tell if your blog has been shadowbanned? And most of the things that happen during this state.
(These are the things that I personally went through. It might not be the same for everyone. Also, my main blog (@that-damn-girl) was shadowbanned. My side-blogs were fine. So in case your main blog is fine but your side blog is shadowbanned, you might have a different experience.)
(P.S. remember that commenting on a post and sending an ask are features reserved for the main blog only.)
maybe wander around the house/stretch a little if you’ve been sat at the computer a while (artists especially: sTRETCH THOSE WRISTS)
reply to that text/message from earlier you’d forgotten about
maybe send a nice lil message to someone having a bad day?
I just would like to thank everyone who ever reblogs this so that it somehow ends up back on my dash because I usually need the reminder (especially the drinking water one)
Of all posts to see with a million notes, I’m glad it’s this one.
[ID: Three connected drawings showing Neku, Shiki, Joshua, and Beat from The World Ends With You in their Neo designs. In each piece, Neku dances with one of his partners. Shiki and Neku dance together with smiles on their faces, holding one hand with the other out behind them. Joshua offers Neku his hand, posing gracefully and smiling gently, as Neku takes it and follows. Beat and Neku face away from each other, but look back with Beat grabbing Neku’s sleeve as they dance in sync smiling confidently. The artist @rainbow-nijisaki’s handle is watermarked in the center of each piece. End ID]
It’d be best not to use the word ‘demon’ at all. Early Egyptology, where this originates, is steeped in Christian imagery and interpretation. A strong bias. This has had the effect of distorting some of our understanding about what certain things are because we shove them into a good/evil, godly/demon binary and this simply doesn’t exist within the . This includes what we now call 'duatlings’, the entities that live in the duat and perform tasks.
Duatlings are neutral by nature. They are simply beings that exist within the duat who are not divine. This doesn’t mean they cannot perform good or bad actions, it’s just very context dependent and they are not always good or always bad. They can change depending on what their task is, and thus the Egyptians did not seek to ward them off unless they were in a specific context where they’d be known to be malign.
Now, as for prayers/utterances that ward off 'demons’, we’re now more used to referring to these as 'malign entities’ rather than demons. Again, they’re not permanently malign or malicious entities, but more neutral entities that have the ability to become malign. There’s a lot on this to do with medical texts, so I’ll add @rudjedet on here and she might have something in her FAQ, or remember where she’s written a post on it before (and she has) that she can tack on for you to read on it.
Essentially: No demons. Duatlings are not 'evil’, they’re neutral with capacity for either good or bad actions.
